Zimbabwe Civil Society Leaders under the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition banner are currently on a week-long advocacy mission to Tanzania, a member of the SADC Troika expected to takeover the chairmanship of the Troika mid August in Maputo when Mozambique becomes chair of SADC. The delegation, led by Crisis Spokesperson Thabani Nyoni and Crisis vice chairperson Grace Chirenje, has been characterised by successful meetings with the media and civil society including with the Media Council of Tanzania, MISA Tanzania, Mwananchi Communications, Independent TV, the Legal and Human Rights Centre and the Tanzania Association of NGOs. The key message for Tanzania and SADC is for continued support for the timeous implementation of a Roadmap to credible, non-violent, free and fair elections that includes a new constitution that is subjected to a national referendum as agreed to under the Global Political Agreement.
